August 5, 2014

Meeting called to order at 5:30 PM at the Gordon Memorial Hospital. Members Courtney Ostrander, Josh Kotter, Pastor Elzroth, Joe Patrluck, Retail Committee member Rachael Lambley, Tourism Committee members Jean Hess & Rich Hoffman, guest’s Rose & Donnie Chappell and daughter, Board Members Lisa Johnson, Mike Shald and Director Bea Lou Hardin.

The Office Report was accepted.

Office Report – July 2014
July has been very busy with Visitors and the Sheridan County Fair & Rodeo. We sold tickets for Reserved Seats, pre-sale Carnival tickets and Raffle tickets for the custom made Hat. The parade was large this year and we were on time! We had 47 entries. Thanks to Mike Shald, Bryan Shald, Lisa Johnson, Jordan Heuther, Christi Peters, Jim & Daneen Lambley, Melody Strawsburger, Homestead Lumber, Carol Langer, Myra Ward and Will Isham.
We had a tie for 1st Place so the First National Bank and Gordon Memorial Health service were both awarded 1st Place Certificates and $100.00 in Chamber Bucks, 2nd Place went to the Gordon Theater Group ($50.00 in Chamber Bucks) and 3rd went to REA from Hay Springs ($25.00 in Chamber Bucks). Best in Category certificates went to: Reckless Youth Rally - Church, Gordon Greenameyer – Antique Tractor, Albany 4 –H – 4-H float, Robert Runner – Vintage Vehicle, Pine View Carriage Services from Hemingford – Animal, Class of 1994 and Save the Badlands – Civic.
We have had visitors from North Carolina, Kansas, Nevada, Canada, Oregon, Eastern Nebraska Norway, Wisconsin, and South Dakota.
We are preparing for the Reckless Youth Rally August 8th & 9th. The Kiwanis Club has agreed to serve Supper on August 8th, The Mormon Church will be serving Breakfast on the 9th, your Chamber will be serving Lunch from 11:00AM to 1:00PM on the 9th and the Lions Club will be serving Supper on the 9th. Darla Mullinex at Antelope Creek has donated the meat, Patty Faulk, Lisa Johnson, and Nancy Scheer have volunteered to make big salads for this lunch. Please give these ladies a THANK YOU for this huge donation.
We are awaiting the Retail Committee’s plans for the Fall Festival.
