Join The Chamber
The Gordon Chamber of Commerce Members are vital in successfully accomplishing the objectives and goals for the promotion of businesses in Gordon and the rural community. When a business or organization joins the Chamber, all of the employees of that business are considered members and are encouraged to participate in Chamber events. With the updates in progress to the web page, I want to encourage you, or the employee who is your computer "goo-roo" to familiarize yourself with your Chamber web site (www.gordonchamber.com). Chamber events, benefits, and members are all listed with additional information that may be of interest. Listed below is some membership benefits:
CHAMBER MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS:
A Ribbon Cutting - Welcomes new members and businesses to Gordon. An announcement in the local newspaper and chamber newsletter.
Welcome Neighbor Program - Visits new residents with a small welcome gift of local information and products provided by Chamber Members.
Monthly Newsletter - Chamber Chatter, members receive a newsletter of current Chamber events and happenings. Members are encouraged to list upcoming events in the newsletter, which can also be circulated via e-mail to members with that service. Please get your information to the Chamber Office by the 1st of each month.
Chamber Office - The office is located inside the Sheridan County Journal building at 210 North Main. The Chamber phone number is 282-0730 and we do have an answering machine. Please leave messages, since the office is staffed half time; Sarah will return your call. The office takes numerous calls and inquiries from people looking to vacation/hunt in the area or move to Gordon as well as new businesses. We also have a display of member's business cards, brochures and area tourist information.
Web Page(www.gordonchamber.com) - We will do our best to update news items regularly as well as having a current weather report. Members are listed in the directory with a free link to their own web page.
General Membership Meetings - Quarterly meetings to highlight Chamber activities and provide speakers on topics pertinent to business interests. Contact your board members or the Chamber Office to share your ideas of material you'd appreciate hearing about your business in 2004.
Business After Hours - Informal, monthly gatherings for businesses and their employees to share with the community what's new and improved within your business, network and socializing after the front doors close.
Specific Committees - Single-purpose committee's work on issues in which there is a particular interest. Some examples are the Welcome Neighbor, Fair Committee, holiday events, etc.
